Gianfranco Todesco is Chief Commissioner of the Digital Technology Investigations Unit - Metropolitan Police of Turin.

The Unit’s main tasks are the following: research and development with Politechnic of Turin and private companies, being actively involved in EU calls within security topic and of course digital and technological investigations having four laboratories specialized in subject areas (big data analysis, intelligence on web and social, video forensics, documents and biometric).

He has always supported the investigation activity with advanced tools.

This kind of policy led the Metropolitan Police to important results, and the Investigation Unit has became a referring point into the field co-operating with different technical companies.

Gianfranco Todesco has developed specific skills in information technology, he has been attending specialized courses at the Police Academy in Montreal (Quebec Canada), Barcelona (Catalugna) and Amsterdam (The Netherlands).

He has been invited as speaker to different conferences on technological investigation from Italian Court, University of Turin – Law faculty, University of Padua – Law faculty.Experienced in managing large events integrating different technologies, focused on security and safety topics, aimed at introduce new approach to video analysis of people masses.
